Skip the streets and run around the two most scenic lakes in the Swedish capital. To the north of town, there is Brunnsviken – a lake bordering the royal park of Haga on one side, with both well-tended roads and optional hill climbs. The eastern shore offers more challenging trail running on smaller footpaths. Distance: 10-12 km. If the southern end of town suits you better, Årstaviken stretches from Gullmarsplan to Hornstull. Half of the 8-kilometer course takes us along the southern shore of Södermalm, the other half through the woods of Årsta.
Both these tours are very weather-dependant. Some years you can run straight through the winter, during others particular days can be outright dangerous. Not because of the cold but for the icy surface.Suitable for:
