We will meet in the morning in Pärnu and drive to Soomaa National Park. It is the Wilderness Capital of Estonia. This vast area of peat-bogs and forests is home for great carnivores, such as lynx, wolf and brown bear. Elks, roe dear, wild boar, beavers and meny other mammals are numerous. Winter is great time, when animal tracks can be easily observed on the snow. Let's go and read this book together!

Winter Wildlife Tracking

16 Feb '12 What a brilliant experience, we went as a family of four, the kids being 6 & 9 yrs, but the whole trip was tailored around what we could do. The kick sledging was great fun and Aivar was extremely patient with us, allowing the kids to roll in the snow if that's what they wanted. His knowledge and enthusiasm about the area was impressive. Afterwards we travelled to his parents farm where we met his father who led the expedition across the frozen river and through the woods looking for animal tracks. We saw lynx, fox, pine martin, stoat & roe deer tracks. Following this we were welcomed into his parents house where his mother cooked pancakes with home made jams, elk & wild boar sausage, cheese, rollmops with a cup of tea, coffee, milk or home made cherry squash. Thank you so much for a unforgettable experience and making us feel so welcome
