About me
Responsible tourism professional based in The Netherlands working for Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa. Living in Reeuwijk near Gouda which is right in the middle of Het Groene Hart, the Green Heart which is an area tucked between mayor Dutch cities in the west of Holland but still feels quite rural.
Why I love my local area
Reeuwijk is in the middle of Het Groene Hart and has beautiful lakes and is a great starting point for bike rides and very popular among watersport enthusiasts. It is also close to pictoresque old cities like Gouda, Oudewater and Schoonhoven. The Green Heart area is working hard on promoting organic local produce and more and more farmer's markets are being organised. The area is well-connected by train to the bigger cities in the Randstad like The Hague, Delft, Leiden, Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam which all have plenty of places of historic value and museums to visit.
