About me

I am Croatian by origin, born in Dubrovnik, but raised in Korcula. Always loved to travel the world, but was always on a hand to lost tourists during their holidays in summer months or if they need any information about Korcula town, or any other village on the island, or about small islands in a vicinity. Yes, you can find tourist agencies in Korcula, but you won't have much hands-on help around as you would with a person like me. I always enjoyed helping others, it doesn't matter who the person is, and in what environment.

Why I love my local area

Korcula will always be in my heart, despite I live in a UK most of the year. Korcula is well known because of the most famous world traveler - Marco Polo. According to a local tradition, Marco Polo was born at Korčula in 1254 to an established family of merchants, although there is no proof of this claim apparently. Well, what is more definite is that the Republic of Genoa defeated Venice in the documented Battle of Korčula off the coast of Korčula in 1298 and a galley commander, Marco Polo, was taken prisoner by the victors to eventually spend his time in a Genoese prison writing of his travels. Nowadays, many tourists visit Marco Polo house in old part of town, but when you see old town, what other stuff you can see or do? Well, that's where I come to ;-). I can arrange daily visits of Split, Dubrovnik, Hvar, Madjugorje (pilgrimage place), etc. I can take you to local vineyards to taste their wine, take you on a boat to try fishing, eat sea-urchins, snorkeling or diving, visiting agro-turism place where you can eat locally grown food, meat, fish ... In the evening, I can suggest, suitable to your budget, restaurant, pizzeria, ... recommend local music venue, etc. Well, I'll do anything to make sure you have unforgettable holiday in Korcula ;-)
